AICTE will held third CMAT for 2013-14 batch

AICTE will conduct third Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) for 2013-2014 batches. Aspirants are advised to be ready for AICTE CMAT third test which will be held on 17th May to 20th May. Only these candidates which could not appear in first two sessions are needed to register for third session.

The test is scheduled to be conducted within a 5 day test window starting from 21st February 2012 and ending on 25th February 2012 in 64 cities. The candidates have the option of selecting the date and city for appearing in the test according to their convenience. The exam pattern is divided into 4 sections namely quantitative techniques and data interpretation, logical reasoning, language comprehension and general awareness. Importance of CMAT 2013 exam


CMAT 2013 is one of the major MBA entrance exams. This exam is conducted on a very large scale in almost all the major towns and cities of India. The full form of this exam is common management aptitude test. CAT (common aptitude test) is another major national based management entrance exam. IIM (Indian Institute of Management) makes admissions through common aptitude test. It is one of the biggest and the most reputed management institutes in India. CMAT 2012: An Exam for Entrance in Top B Schools


A wide range of students are attracted towards the MBA entrance exams where by many aspirants take CAT, CMAT and MAT which are the top considered examination options to take admission in the top b-schools of India. The concept of entrance examination has quickly spread across the world and today many graduates are entering into CMAT each year to make their dreams come true of studying in the top business schools. CMAT referred to as common management admission tests is an online computer based test conducted by the all India council for technical education (AICTE), India.

Being a national level admission tests for facilitating institutions to select eligible and suitable students for admission in all management programmes approved by AICTE, the increase in the number of students applying for this exam is increasing day-by-day. CMAT 2012 features around 4 lakhs seats in the AICTE-approved management programmes in India which will be covered by the test. The test will be conducted from 20th to 28th Feb 2012 and the results for the same will be declared on 11 March 2012. As far as eligibility is concerned, Graduates in any discipline for final year of graduate course can apply for CMAT. Here is detailed information on the eligibility criteria for admission to management programs:

  • Management (PGDM, MBA and similar)- Recognized bachelors degree of minimum 3 years duration obtained at least 50% marks, 45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category at the qualifying examination.
  • Management (PGCM) - Recognized bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration.
  • Management (executive PGDM)- any recognized bachelors degree of minimum 3 years and a minimum of 5 years relevant managerial/supervisory experience with at least 50% (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying Examination. 
CMAT is a three hour test conducted during a period of nine days in two shifts at 61 locations. The CMAT question papers comprises of four sections including the quantitative techniques & data interpretation, logical reasoning, language comprehension and general awareness. The number of questions in each section is 25 while each correct answer carries four marks and each wrong answer will carry negative marking as well. So far, b-schools have been largely dependent on the results of CAT and management aptitude test (MAT). This initiative has been taken to address the physical, mental and learning ability of the candidate. So, this year if you are planning to appear for the CMAT, make sure your preparations are up to the mark.
